What is Airbag Clock-spring:
An Airbag Clock spring is an assembly that contains a spirally wound flat ribbon to allow the steering wheel to be turned while maintaining a constant electrical connection to the driver airbag, horn and other electrical steering wheel mounted controls. The Airbag Clockspring is mounted on the steering column and can be usually found under the steering wheel.
Clock spring only needs to be replaced when the connectors that attach to the drivers airbag is melted and fused directly to the cylinder. During a deployment the gas conversion creates a heat exchange inside the cylinder and that causes some connectors to melt .
